PCs Novel Approach to Forest of Lanterns
My players discovered an interesting way to defeat the Warty Witch. They stood outside the wall of the Candy Cottage, and blew away one of the windows in Izelda's tower with a Sound Lance. Then the druid, using master Air, lowered himself and one of the mirrors of opposition so that Izelda would see...

I can understand why someone might be a bit turned off by the giant turtle (or epic levels) in #33, or think the CD inclusion in #34 is hokey, or find the sci-fi element in #36 out-of-place for their fantasy campaign, and #38 is clearly just silly, but for the life of me I can't figure out what coul...

3 rounds? Serena should have gone gaseous long before the end. Sounds like your group's good tactics overwhelmed the GM. ...btw, isn't control undead a 7th level spell? So your wizard was, what, 13th level? Sorry. Just realized you meant command undead. Yeah, I think he forgot abou...

I played in a campaign of Idylls. My character was Jae Don, a monk/sorceror who was working towards the Enlightened Fist prestige class. The other characters were a Druid, a Spellthief, and a Wizard. We brutalized Idylls -- we did the entire thing in three sessions/four game days, and never once lef...

After a week break, we had what was to be our final session of the adventure. It turned out to be the final session of the campaign! Having run seven DCCs so far, I can now report that The Sunken Zigguraut scored my first TPK !!! It was the Weeping Maiden. She was too powerful for the cleric to turn...

You haven't met my players and seen their min maxing skills! I'm just afraid they'll be too powerful for any first level DCCs.kaomera wrote:Sure, they're pretty good for first-level characters, but I don't think it's unbalancing, especially considering what they've had to go through to get to that point.

Zero Level Characters
I just got my copy of DCC #35: The Known Realms , and so it's only a matter of time before I give my Wilderlands campaign the hard goodbye and switch over. I already have a bunch of questions, and I will eventually post a big list of questions for Harley, Jeff and Mike to answer, but right now I am ...

My players finished level three in yesterday's session. Most of the game-time of the session was eaten up dealing with the puzzles in the center complex, which the players enjoyed quite a bit. I don't think they'll finish it next session after-all. There was also another battle with the Hollow Ones ...

I'm currently running DCC #23: The Sunken Zigguraut in my Wilderlands campaign, with a party of six fifth level characters: a Human Fighter, a Halfling Scout, a Halfling Cleric, a Half-Elf Sorcerer, an Elf Beguiler, and a Human Healer. The player of the Human Healer had been away for two months, and...

Forgotten Realms has always been a favorite, particularly the Daggerdale region (I've run the Daggerdale trilogy several times). I love the Zhentarim, and I love watching them get taken down over and over and over again. Plus Faerun really lends itself to stories involving fallen gods, armies of de...

I picked DCC#29 up the week it came out, which happened to be the week after my new Wilderlands campaign started. I had written my own adventure, but after I ran it I really wanted to put this book to use, so i included several maps - one leading to the Mage Maze, another leading to the Tower of the...
