Re: OAR #6 Temple of Elemental Evil: Incorrect Strength (Athletics) checks
@Malovech: I commend you on your eagle eye. That is the way those skill and ability checks work as RAW. So, technically they should not be Athletics checks. BUT, if the player describes how they are attempting an action, the GM can certainly rule that the proficiency bonus can be added to the check ...

Out of curiosity, which of the old DCC modules (#0 through #52) would you be interested in seeing converted to 5E. I might know someone who could make that happen

Re: Question from an aspiring DM
Hi Guzzer, This is Chris, the author of The Fey Sisters' Fate . Thanks for buying the module, and for entering the exhilarating world of being a GM. The Goodman Games community has presented many solutions to scaling down the Goodman Games 5E modules. We do regret not having a "scaling the adve...

Re: Raiders of The Lost Oasis question.
Hi Alex Thanks for your question! I'm the author of RotLO. If the PCs disarm the trap, it stands to reason that they will jam the pivoting floor in place. Then they can use controlled actions to either collapse the wall safely, or tilt the floor enough to access the oiled slide under the now jammed ...

Re: Into the Dragon's Maw
Jace Wonderful report. The fact is even almost a year into 5e, folks are not experienced with high level 5e play. My payers had similar issues. Too many options and not familiar with all the nuances with the rules. And they held back with the big guns too. They were convinced the coatl was allied wi...

Yes, homebrew all the way. I'm a big fan of armadillos, plus they fit the xulmec (aztec) theme of the adventure setting.

Re: Into the Dragon's Maw
They were indeed the Pregens used for the playtest (except for the arcane trickster: we only had 5 players). Magic items were selected by the author and tweaked by the players. I apologize for minor errors and not fully fleshing them out regarding backstory, portraits, etc. But they are free, and we...

Re: Into the Dragon's Maw
Jason Glad to hear you enjoyed the first read through. I really enjoyed designing the module and during the playtest we really put it through the wringer. But then again my players all have 30+ years experience playing rpgs, so it was expected. I had to make several adjustments. The pre-gens will be...

Question Regarding Fey Sisters' Fate
The following was a question sent to Goodman Games from a fan regarding The Fey Sisters' Fate. The fan who sent the question agreed to have me post it (along with my long-winded response) so that others could benefit from the clarification. In The Fey Sisters' Fate, maybe I'm a little thick, but I'm...

Re: 5E modules set in Aereth?
My first 5E module did not have any ties to Aereth. But the second one most certainly does. Just look at the title. Not to mention the cool backstory that ties into a 3E DCC module near and dear to many.... That being said, one of the design goals was to make sure it could be dropped into another ca...

Hi all,
I don't normally do this, but IMO its an excellent game:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/804 ... d-out-hero
Its a trick taking (like Hearts) card game with a dungeon crawl feel (different PCs, beat up the monsters).
Thank you!

Re: DM/1-player session: adventure advice
Ogrepuppy, You could use DCC#0 Legends are made not born. It was designed for 6 apprentice level (0 level) PCs, but with further tweaking, you might be able to make it work for a wizard and his bodyguard. The old module N1, Treasure Hunt, also might work, but it has a very specific set up, and was d...

Re: Lions in 9A-4
Thanks Gnomeboy! If you make it GenCon in 2012, I owe you a frosty one! The Fort Save sounds balancing, and I agree that the rend SA should not inflict the extra Con damage (unless the PCS are breezing through this section of the adventure; then it calls for a houserule!). I hope your gang is enjoyi...

Hi Mirv120, I designed the dessicated lions for that encounter. IIR, I used the template as described from the deluxe book of templates. Re: Posting Castle Whiterock Conversions to Pathfinder
Well, I did write the upper levels, and yes, IIR, those attributes were to be applied to all of the orcs to give them a slightly different feel. There is a good chance the "stats" editor (who didn't read the text on the orcs, I imagine) caught the change in the regular orcs and switched it...

Re: Castle Whiterock Question
Master Pommier is dead on (or, if you prefer, undead on). He is should be true neutral. I'll have to check my original file to see if the switch occured during one of the editing rounds (there were two; one for stats and one for grammar). I would not be surprised if it got switched to make the stat ...

OK, time for the other author to chime in. Same thoughts as Jeng., its up to Mr. Goodman if you can post it here. But I would be most interested as well. I've been running a few levels on and off using PF, and I would enjoy seeing compiled conversion notes as well.

Re: Unofficial Year 6.5 GenCon 2010 DCC Team Tournament
Andy,
Nobody expressed an interest in my unofficial 3.5 tourney, so I don't plan to run any slots. Bummer, since the one rounder was written, and playtested (twice). One of the groups was the GG East gang of freelancers and he had a real blast.
As Adrian said, maybe next year...
