Need Judges for Who's Yer Con, Apr 10-12, Indy
Goodman Games is a proud sponsor of Who's Yer Con in Indy this year, which means that 800 attendees are getting the DCC RPG Quick Start Rules in their swag bags. So...we'd love to have a bunch of people running the game there. The con is 100% free to attend, and event submission closes Feb 29. I'm r...

Re: Skull & Crossbones Classics
I've not played it, but I've talked to Bob about it. My impression was that his intent is to do a full derivative, not a DCC supplement, and it would be geared more towards historical piracy and not fantasy piracy (no magic or demi-humans). I don't think he hangs out on these forums, but if you ask ...

Re: DCC CON
I've considered doing this very thing at Loveland Castle in Cincinnati. I eventually decided it would be too expensive, and the castle isn't really a great setup for gaming.GnomeBoy wrote:Where do you imagine such a thing being set? Re: "Tales from the Magician's Skull" -- taking submissions?
The answer is "no" and "yes."
I asked Howard Jones that question myself, and he said that right now he has enough submissions just from people he knows, but at some point in the future it will probably be opened up to submissions.

Re: Best approach for a one-off game?
I gave everyone a 1st level character and a couple of zeros, this way they can experience both the fantastic DCC game mechanics (deeds, magic, healing, disapproval, corruption, etc.) and the spirit/flavour of DCC with the funnel and character death. This is a good way to do it, but I also wrote an ...

Trapsylvania will be published at some point in the future, though I couldn't say for sure when. I believe most of the manuscript for it is finished.FASAfan wrote:

Re: Deadlands flavor mechanics.
Those both seem like workable solutions. The one change I'd make is to make use of the Mercurial Magic table (or maybe the corruption table) if the Huckster uses the joker. Divide the Mercurial magic into separate "good effects" and "bad effects" for the red joker and black joker...

The titles and headings are Duvall, the same as the cover logo.

I've seen the playtest version and I'm quite happy with the way it's written. I'm a bit out of the loop at the moment as to how things have been updated, and I don't know the release date, but I can say that a main manuscript is going through shake-down and good things are happening with DCC Lankhm...

Re: Acquiring New Skills
How have you all handled the acquisition of skills in DCC? I was thinking that a player could in-game pay for training in a particular skill and thus be trained in it. For example, if a player wanted to be trained in mounted combat he could pay the services of a trainer in-game and thereafter be co...

Re: Which character does the monster attack?
I use all of the above, according to my Judgy whims. For non-intelligent monsters, I usually start by making it random even though it adds an extra die roll, or going with lowest Luck once in a while just to dissuade players from burning too much Luck. But once combat gets going, even my non-intelli...

Quoted from one of the updates on the DCC RPG 4th printing Kickstarter: This will be a new module of approximately 64 pages that includes several of the shorter DCC modules previously published in other, harder-to-find formats. The compilation module is tentatively slated to include the following ad...
