Re: paper quality

With the quality of the printing and binding, the page count, the amount of art, the mechanics and the whole tone of the game, I'm even more convinced this will be an instant rpg classic (just as the name suggests).

Re: Updated forum structure

Where do we see conversion notes fitting in? Although DCC RPG will be supported by purpose-written modules, there will be many who would like to convert past D&D modules or just convert some favourite critters, etc. Guidance, examples, fully worked out adventures, etc.; Should they have their ow...

I assume errata would go into a Rules Questions subforum. I'm hoping a full subforum for those will not be needed.

Re: Any word on the status of the funky dice sets?

Even before the beta was released I purchased a set of funkies in the UK. It cost me the price of the DDC RPG book itself  . I'm OK with that as my means allows for such eccentric purchases, but many, many others will not swallow the extra cost AND extra hassle of hunting down a source for th...

Re: What adventures will be available when core book release

480 pages! That US$4 international shipping offer is going to ruin your business!

Fab news for us however. Sounds like lots of meat for all aspects (rules, art, flavour). I predict an instant classic RPG.

Re: What adventures will be available when core book release

It will be good news to many that the Free RPG Day modules are included in the core rule book. However, not trying to look a gift horse in the mouth, I personally prefer my rule books to not have adventures in them. There are issues with players getting hold of the book and seeing the adventure, but...

Re: What adventures will be available when core book release

Just a suggestion... Make the download of the free adventure day 0 level starter...er free? I know it's only a few dollars over at rpgnow and I bought it but at least everyone would have something before the other 0 level stuff becomes available? For some reason, I think that was their plan. I'm su...

Re: DCC preorder : international shipping ?

I think I am going to wait for the standard format to arrive at leisuregames or gameslore. Leisure Game just wrote back to me today with the following; "It looks like they will be able to get this for us. So, let us know if you would like to go ahead with it." Unfortunately, I've already ...

Re: DCC preorder : international shipping ?

Will the game be available from online stores in the uk like leisuregames, gameslore etc? They will stock Goodman Games items in the normal manner. However, I've already contacted Gameslore and they have told me they can't/won't handle the pre-order. Leisure Games have told me they are making inqui...

Re: Stop the press!

I'd stop the presses just as I was getting ready to e-mail the final version to the printers. I'd then send it out again to a group of good fresh eyes for one more week to look for typos (I volunteer!). Only then would I pull the trigger on it. This is because I hate typos with a vengeance. However,...

Re: DCC preorder : international shipping ?

That's a very generous offer Joseph and much appreciated. To be fair to Leisure Games, I'll wait for their reply just in case they can match it (which would allow me to support a bricks and mortar shop). However, I suspect your deal will be the winner.

Now I'm off to spread the word.

Re: DCC preorder : international shipping ?

I don't have an answer for you, but I have been investigating obtaining the limited edition pre-order bundle in the UK. So far Gameslore have very courteously replied to let me know that they would not be able to do this as it would not be profitable for them. Leisure Games have making inquiries (mo...

Black Dougal. Care to post your impressions on how the DCC RPG system is shaping up? We'll take it as read that it's still lethal. However, any tit-bits on how it's changed since the beta would be greatly appreciated. We're all champing at the bit to get hold of it. A few crumbs might keep us ...

Excellent. You've introduced me to the Internet meme of Leeroy Jenkins.

Re: DCC's Implied Setting

Firstly, I think some of the lethality will have been ironed out in the released version of the rules (for instance, I believe the frequency of magic-induced corruption has been decreased). Never the less, it is likely to remain quite an edgy system, thus you are correct that a D&D mentality (es...

Re: DCC and 5e D&D

Another comment by Monte Cooke that has DCC RPG overtones to my mind; We are also experimenting with variations on task resolution. What if, for example, something that used to give you a bonus or a penalty instead modified the dice you roll? A bonus to your attack roll might be the ability to roll ...
