Re: Experiment: Mists of Madness, converted for 0-level
I would think some animals would be left behind depending on the location of the adventure. Unless a player thinks they might find use for a duck they might just sell it to someone else in the village for a few copper or something. A dog is handy as are pack animals, but I'm not so sure most livesto...

Re: Links to DCC RPG Resources, updated 6/12
Can we start an FAQ and include it here? There are a lot of things that are getting brought up in many threads in many places that have been answered. One I just saw was the non-humans taking human classes. I think answering basic questions in an FAQ and slapping it as a sticky in front of all the D...

Re: 0 lvl to lvl 1 Transition/Options - Thoughts?
That is not correct. All non-humans only level as their racial class. All dwarves are dwarves no dwarves are thieves or warriors or wizards or clerics. Joseph is leaving the door open for 3rd party non-human classes, but the design captures the general feel of appendix N being mainly human-o-centric...

Re: Corruption and Spell Fumble
I think people are overstating corruption. Remember old school AD&D? You wizard cast 1 spell a day and that was it. If you play that way... throw 3-4 spells from level 1-2... then throw 2 spells a session (like being level 2) and throw 8 spells or so to get to level 3. You can be level 5 with on...

Re: [Suggestion] Halflings as luck "charm"
I don't think it is supposed to change between adventures. Long term tho.. wouldn't it make sense for the luckiest one to be the one bringing luck to the party?

Re: Weapons
I loved that the spear did a d8. Historically it was the most used weapon in war almost from the dawn of man til they started using longer spears (pikes). And it wasn't just that they were cheaper to make it was becuase a long stick with a poke-y bit on the end would let you kill someone before they...

Re: changing the tone of DCC?
Outside the book it is marketing. Inside the book it is confusing. I'm ok with some of it in the book... as long as its in the forward or design notes at the end. It would be great to add your own Appendix N like thing... there you could say exactly why the game was made and how it should be played...

Re: Experiment: Mists of Madness, rewritten for 0-level
Just to help out... from the Free RPG module traps felt very much like a great combo of AD&D and 3e. I don't want to spoil anything, but they can have any normal effect you can imagine with a save of one kind or another to prevent/reduce damage, or work like some kind of an attack... (making som...

One man's tentacles are another man's roots! Forest/Tree gawds like roots! I get your point tho... you can't really have a million tables tho especially since patron's will tend to be campaign specific to some extent. Once you have a character who has a patron I'd take 10 minutes and make a corrupti...

Re: Demi-human classes...
Joseph mentioned he'd add a note at the start to make it more clear and it didn't happen before the rules went out. In the end I'm guessing people are happy to have gotten the rules a few days early. There is time to clean this stuff up.

Re: Multiple Mighty Deeds
You don't roll one attack and then the other... the whole beauty of the zocchi dice is you can roll it all at once. Warrior (some level I'm not looking at charts!) declares I am going to disarm the first orc and then try to stab his buddy. Roll d20 (first action die) + d16 (second action die) + d7 (...

Re: changing the tone of DCC?
I like the general feel of the rules, but in a couple sections (Like rolling characteristics) it seemed silly. If a rule says Roll a D20 to hit. Why would I confuse things by saying, do not roll a d16 nor a d24, roll a d20 and only a d20. One d20 and not 3 d20s taking the best one nor rolling 2d20 a...

You do keep the training from level 0.

Re: Healing Critical Hits
Yeah I think an extra sentence was left in there... you would be healed when the whole wound was healed and the whole wound was 7. 4 from the crit and 3 from the attack that crit'd.
So you'd need to make a note by the crit when you wrote down the -10' speed.

I have been holding back from writing the rant against the ranters for days!
I don't 'get' Live-Action Sailor Moon... so I don't play or post in their forums to tell them I don't get it and won't buy it.

Re: Halfling questions
I have a couple of questions about halflings, as written so far. 1) Why does only 1 halfling get to burn luck to help out the rest of the party? 2) How do you determine WHICH halfling gets to be the good luck charm? 3) What happens if the entire party is Halflings? 4) If a halfling burns luck to he...

The RAW actually say only a natural 20 is automatically a crit and a hit. When warriors have higher crit ranges say 18-20... an 18/19 is only a crit IF it hits.

Re: Elf, action dice pg 44
I don't believe it is saying to use Mercurial Magic as a modifier, but as a replacement. If I get to use a d30 for Magic Missile... then I can swing my sword with a d20 and then as my second action fire off a d30 magic Missile.

Re: Two weapon fighting and critical hits
In theory the odds of that are the same assuming the same dice type and if you are using much lower dice the odds of getting hits is going to be very low. Also, I believe you should be able to crit with one attack and miss with another. Making it max value for the dice as long as that is a hit isn't...

Re: Dice...
It is not like the dice set will cost $1000. I ordered 2 of each dice I'd need (I skipped d3s and d5s) and it was about the same price as a useless hardback add in for any other RPG and will be enough for my group to use. DCC isn't planning on having 20 'core books' you need to buy... so the cost of...

Yeah... I am hoping to publish modules for DCC and have been trying to think of ideas for content supplements too... and the old-school greatness is so broad you don't need a million classes.
