Re: New to the forums and DCCRPG
Make sure you grab the updated thief and cleric pdfs. It'll play fine without them, but they're more balanced now

Re: A few questions
You raise points that have come up many times. :) In fact there are a couple threads on these forums along the same lines. I still haven't come up with a great answer to the probability concerns (i.e., "1" happens too often on a d14 or "max result" happens too rarely on a d30). ...

Re: A few questions
I've been wondering, is a crit on a d30 only a 30? Seems odd to punish a player reducing their chance to crit to a 3.3%, but 2 crit numbers increase you to 6.6%...

I've been tracking down terrible zombie themed rpgs to see how low the bar is set In terms of quality and playability. And apparently, it's really low

The part of me who doesn't want to wait is saddened by this.
The part of me who just started developing my own rpg, however, completely understands.

Re: Cleric Sacrifice???
Why not allow their god to consume the gold in a holy blaze? I was planning on ruling that the cleric must sacrifice 80% of current worldly possessions to negate one penalty point. That includes any weapons and the clothes on their back in the total value. other acceptable sacrifices include fresh k...

Re: Character Improvement Options
While I understand people's desire to play super powered murder machines, there are systems for that (4e). People keep forgetting the "you're no hero" bit. That being said, this game, unfortunately, won't be for everyone. I'm trying to get my 4e group interested, and those that gave played...

Re: Non-prof penalty
icetower hit the shark on the nose wrt rules as written, and it worked for my first group fine. There are a number of viable options to explain it: Adrenaline and fear are making them better fighters for now. Suspend the disbelief, or I'll add more notches to my screen for your characters. Because I...

Re: Playtest in Connecticut
Just so you're aware, the thief skills have changed to d20. I believe the reason was "it's overcomplicated old school for the sale of being overcomplicated and old school"or something to that effect. In all honesty, you're just rounding the check either up our down no more than 3%, honestl...

Re: Online Playtests
I'm est, but wednesday is my only guaranteed night off, and that's my weekly 4e game. I have at least 2, if not up to 5 players already, one or two want me to house rule the crap out of it and create custom classes though (one is hell bent on playing a monk, I'd probably let him run an unarmed warri...

Re: Character Improvement Options
I just spent a decent amount of time convincing done players at my flgs to join a play by post game. One loves 2e, one is willing to try, and another wants to make a werewolf monk. The one who wants a were-monk min-maxes, an tod is a 4e power gamer. I'm convincing him that the classes are interestin...

Re: Updated Cleric Class
That works, of you roll them randomly. Or make the cool gods brutal, like of you use Bahamut, and piss him off, you might eventually get blasted by him. Maybe Cthulu sends along a mind flayer and you suffer permanent Int loss if you piss him off. I'm thinking along the lines of my fav roguelike Neth...

Re: Updated Thief Class
I know were entirely off topic but... I haven't had a chance to be on the player side of the table yet, but I'm playing in a labyrinth lord game (just joined it) where we rolled 6 sets of 3d6 stats (essentially 6 full characters), and funneled them ourselves, picking the ones we liked best for the c...

Re: Online Playtests
The person in question would be me
I've be interested on either a skype game or a game over on rpol
Would prefer rpol for scheduling reasons.
Also, I'd rather play than run, but I'll run if nobody else it's interested in doing so

Re: Will we see the next updated draft?
Well some things will be clarified here, just not into an updated pdf, like thief skills are going to d20.
Gonna be interesting without a final playtest though.
Understandable, though, why else would we buy the final?

I was kinda worried 2/level was a but much, but haven't had any post level 1 play time; local flgs won't let me run dcc until the books are for sale

Re: not declaring deed: I thought that on my first read. wow nifty effects every attack? Then I re read. If your class die (1d3 at first level) is less than 3, you miss, no damage at all. Seems a bit risky at level 1 with do few hp Re: ranger class: This isn't d&d.this isn't going to appeal to e...

Re: DCC RPG Funnel Feedback
One thing I had to pound into player's heads was heroes are made, not born. Doesn't help my case that there isn't a rule for stat advancement, I'm gonna house rule 2 stats can get + 1 per level except luck. After having jumped from dming 4e to dcc, I feel this will feel like a more natural progressi...

Re: Class Conversions for DCC
I'm not trying to discourage you, but from what I've understood about dcc, it's that it's more limited in scope of player options. Limiting the player choices does a few things, 1) it prevents game breaking classes from appearing (4e paladins are murder machines that can heal, at least on my games)....

Re: A Solution for all that Burning...?
I had replied, odd that it didn't post. Regardless, this reminds me of World of Darkness's health system, and personally, I'm not a fan. It's arbitrary, confusing for new people, and often times vague. I'm not bashing your idea, I like the idea of fatigue tracking, but the way it's implemented and t...
