Re: upcoming changes to OGL
I have been out of gaming for some time. All of a sudden the D&D movie is coming out and the internet keeps screaming at me that it is dead. Then I investigate a bit and it’s all about the OGL and how they are killing small publishers by changing it. I’m not sure what is going on but if even hal...

Re: Brave Halfling Publishing...what gives? Never buy again.
I was contacted about this Kickstarter years after I had moved and changed email addresses. I was shocked beyond belief. Especially since I had jumped at the refund offer by Goodman games. I used that money to help pay for my demon cover core book. Anyway I told him all this and he still sent me a p...

Re: Posting Castle Whiterock Conversions to Pathfinder
I never could get this campaign going much past the surface. So many hooks to explore in the city. Then DCC RPG came along and my last group left the city on an errand to remove a cursed item from a players arm and never returned. I think they ended up on the purple planet and the group started to f...

Re: Castle Whiterock: Revised Edition
I know you should never say never but I remember Joe saying CWW was something that he would never do again. Just so darn big. You could break it up into at least 20 modules and one guide book.I remember buying it at Gencon for $100 when it first came out. I nearly broke my back carrying that thing i...

I would say that the first time he does this give him the Big Bang effect. If it becomes the go to move to kill every strong monster then make life after the bang hell for the wizard.

Re: healing potions etc.
If they have a huge pile of gold you need to get rid of then sell them a couple of healing potions. Charge them a kings ransom and then have the seller disappear. A couple of potions won't break the game and it will make the players happy. They will also be broke and ready to adventure again for mor...

Re: Named Adventuring Groups / Bands
I did this with CWR. It is such a big dungeon that parts were skipped by the group. If that happened and something important to the story needed to be found then another party would find it. This helped me out as DM and caused some interesting RP moments. Negotiating with another gold Hungary group ...

Re: Reader's guide to Lankhmar fiction
I'd love an omnibus edition of some kind. I have some collections of various quality and organization, but I'd love to have a go to set to use (like I do with Howard, frex). I've gotten lazy about tracking it all down. Is there a newer one anyone knows of? PS my first exposure to Lankhmar was the A...

The world tour seems to be on hold. The only response has been be patient new things are in the works. Keep sending emails with dates and information. Your games are being tracked and will count towards whatever is being cooked up. I haven't heard anything in awhile now.

Last I heard it was still correct. However I haven't had a reply in awhile. The last I heard from him was a month ago on G+ and he asked for patience while things were restructured.

Re: DCC RPG 4th printing: What do you want?
6) Erol Otis, Peter Mullen, Gary Chalk (Lone Wolf), Ian McCaig (Fighting Fantasy), or Barry Windsor-Smith (70s Conan) cover. The last three would be really neat because they would still be old school but not just DnD artists. I like the idea of a new and different artist for the cover. Getting a no...

Re: DCC RPG 4th printing: What do you want?
Please redo the really uninspiring gods list for the cleric and add one small paragraph per deity. If you really redo it and add some kick arse Gods.....redo the front cover to show the gods standing around a game board moving pieces on it that look like player characters. Yes a redo of the gods wo...

Re: How do y'all handle lvl.1 Elf armor?
My players avoided elves at all cost. They hated the iron rule. If they rolled up an elf they ignored the rule all together. I got tired of trying to enforce it all the time anyway. Even with the relaxed enforcement of this rule all elves in the game ended up being suicide missiles. They were charge...

Re: Murder Hobo, your time is now...
This class would be fun to play in a one shot drinking game. I could see a whole party of murder hobos being turned loose on The Jewels of the Carnifax. Can you imagine the negotiations between a Godess and a group of murder hobos?

Re: Needed for DCC
I found some cool book covers from Abotts Hollow at Gencon a couple years ago. They didn't have anything large enough for the DCC RPG core book. I thought about a custom order but never ended up doing it. Seeing this makes me wish I had done it when I had the money.

Re: How much luck do you throw around?
I let them reset their luck when they would level up. They end up with more at low levels and then it slows way down at 4th and after. Before I house ruled this players were dying without ever spending any luck. They were always hoarding it for some emergency and then never pulling the trigger. The ...

I like how the chart combined with the lid from the box set makes a great dice tray for rolling the judges dice. The D14 takes some crazy turns before coming to rest on a banner. A simple way to make rolling crits more fun. Well done Harley.

Re: Castle Whiterock Question & Actual Play
I think DCC encourages it more. Thinking outside the box is not something I remember from my 3.5 days. Encounter levels and massive stat blocks seemed to get in the way. Every monster had to have all it's attacks spelled out in detail with the right feats and powers. However you are right any judge ...
