That's pretty cool! There seems to be a lot of buzz around the game, and it's growing.

Re: Introductions Thread - Join the Band!
Hi there. My name here is my real first name. I am a Frenchman (from France, not Quebec) living in British Columbia. I am in my mid-30s, have been a gamer since my childhood years. I was introduced by my much older cousin, playing AD&D First Ed, T1-4, without training wheels - meaning it took me...

Attack mod and Deeds stacking?
When a warrior declares a mighty deed of arms, does he also roll his attack modifier die normally and add to attack and damage accordingly, or does the deed die roll count as though it's been already been used (i.e. no roll for attack/dmg mod)?

Re: Upcoming rulebooks?
Now the idea we won't have an endless stream of 'official rules supplements' but instead modules is VERY appealing to me. I don't want to see 'ULTIMATE this' and 'XTREME that' supplements, thank you very much. You forgot "... POWER" and "COMPLETE ..." supplements. :) You read my...

Now that tune sounds familiar, and I very much like to hear it.Harley Stroh wrote:Agreed. We love AD&D, too. And when we get the itch to play AD&D, we ... play AD&D.

Ah now that's what I'm talking about.
A GM screen using the color illo of the inside cover of the DCC RPG would be really nice, though....

Re: Pictures of the gold foil cover edition
I love my giant, sinister-looking, black and gold book. I'd like to share our story with you all... I popped over to Paizo's site on a Monday night, and I saw a post about this curious looking tome on the Store Blog. I had never heard of this before. Intrigued, I came over to this site to investiga...

Re: Pictures of the gold foil cover edition
What really satisfies me about this game right now is that it is so obviously NOT AD&D. And you can ask around, since a few people know me around here: I am a huge supporter of the First Edition game play and spirit. I LOVE AD&D 1E. To put it bluntly, I was afraid this game would be "Jo...

Re: Pictures of the gold foil cover edition
Another excellent thing about this game that should be pointed out is not even in the rulebook. The 3PP participation looks to be putting an excellent game over the top! I have never been so satisfied in an RPG like this one thus far! Very true! Looks like the game is picking up momentum in all cor...

Re: Those damned halflings
Rename the Halfling "the trickster dwarf". The Halfling is now another dwarf class, more reminiscent of the sneaks and tricksters of the Norse Sagas than the warriors and metallurgists one can find there too. When you create a dwarf, you know choose which aspect of the dwarven archetype yo...

DCC RPG GM Screen and compilation of tables booklet
What I'd like to see for the DCC RPG at this point would be a GM Screen that comes along with a booklet compiling the tables critical to run the game.
Thoughts?

Re: Playtest Feedback Guidelines
As a university lecturer who has to go through the yearly cycle of feedback from students, may I remind everyone, as I do my students, that feedback doesn't mean just the perceived negatives. All too often people view "feedback" and "criticism" in a pejorative sense. Getting fee...

And Jim? I'm pretty sure Harley meant the RPG Site, though the Haven is a cool place and deserves some attention too.

Re: Blogging About the DCC RPG
Yeah I got kind of the same reaction and in fact it's very comparable to Rolemaster in that regard: the charts look intimidating at first, but when you look at the detail of the game, you see that it's not rules heavy at its very core. It just ask a little bit of forethought and organization to run ...

I just received DCC RPG yesterday and took some pictures for people interested in the game. I thought I might as well share them here as well for the lurkers who haven't made up their mind quite yet. Might be useful, you never know. http://enrill.net/images/photos/products/DCC-01.jpg http://enrill.n...
