Re: Any chance on making some low fantasy adventures?
The Lankhmar campaign set is very faithful to Leiber's stories. So if those match what you want from your game, I'd say that boxed set is the one to go with... I agree 10%. Lahnmar is pretty much "low fantasy" from the get-go and it's a fun set of rules as well. Give it a look! Only 10%, ...

Re: Can Clerics Reverse Spells?
The philosophy is different -- Wizard spells are stolen, eked out of ancient fragments of lore, learned through difficult trial and error, so Wizards have insight into how those spells might be shaped differently; Cleric spells are powers granted by a deity. Creating a 'reverse' spell because it's a...

Re: Doom of the Savage Kings geometry conundrum - Spoiler alert!
I don't know that the chimney's dimensions are specifically given. Also the entire geometry of the crawlspace is more likely to be rough , and expressly not tight right angles. It reminds me of the story about the guy that bought the fishing pole, but then wasn't allowed to bring a 6ft object onto t...

I'll allow Luck to be burnt as normal, and even for Luck checks. The target number is set before the roll; if someone wants to burn to hit that number after the roll, that's works.

3) You keep the same deed result throughout the round, no rerolling Correct, if what you mean is "keep the same number for the attack bonus, the damage boost, and for determining if the Deed is successful." If you get two attacks per round, you re-roll the die. There is no ability to pred...

20 is what I consider a maximum for any funnel I've ever run. That many zeroes and they start to get brash and can sometimes just overpower obstacles in a way that is distinctly un-Funnel-like. I'd give them five each, and if you're doing Sailors, let them top up to no more than 4 each at the 'resto...

Re: a question about Sailors on the Starless Sea
They want to return to the village and regroup. This is why I've always framed it as "you have too much to lose, or nothing left to lose -- that's why you're venturing to see who you can save and if you can stop this recurring threat". Any delay means more abductions, more loss of life. T...

Just FYI, this is the Fan Forums -- while the authors and artists do swing by here occasionally, it is a very bad way to try to reach the company directly, especially about something like this. The info@ email is the best way to reach the company. It may be that there is no update to report back to ...

Re: Mighty Deeds Of Arms and other classes
I am firmly in the camp of not spreading Deeds around. It's not that other Classes and NPCs can't attempt to trip opponents, disarm opponents, etc. -- it's that they can't do it along with damage. They choose either/or -- the Warrior and the Dwarf can deal damage AND perform stunts/swashbuckling/etc...

Re: Question on new Lankhmar 5E book and magic.
The downside, of course, is that Goodman Games will only invest a certain amount of resources to the Lankhmar IP, so if they are producing more 5E Lankhmar that means probably less DCC Lankhmar. :( There are separate 5e and DCC creative teams, so I don't imagine it actually slows anything down -- i...

Re: What's the deal with 32+ Sleep?
My personal take with this kind of thing is to let it be heavily influenced by the context -- the situation being addressed when cast, past of the Wizard doing the casting, the beings affected, the locale, whatever jumps out at me as important in relation to the spell. A rule doesn't need to mean th...

Yeah, it'd be down to what it says it does.
I can easily imagine (and have employed) 'magic armor' where the magic part is that it doesn't have a check penalty or doesn't slow you down, but does NOT provide any better AC.

Re: New to OSR and DCC. Changes to the in-game religion system for duty and freedom of conscience.
I can't think of a case in anything I've run or played in where the polytheism was particularly important (I maintain it more to give players the option that they prefer for the character's deity). I know I don't put too much emphasis on Alignment in DCC or in D&D if/when I'm playing that (the m...

Re: New to OSR and DCC. Changes to the in-game religion system for duty and freedom of conscience.
I'd be happy to make suggestions, but it's difficult to be specific. Rather than working off of simply "a lot of tables in the game that make references to things that make us uncomfortable", maybe quote a two or three results that are undesirable, and we can suggest on those specifically....
