Re: Tales from the Road: My Road Crew experience thus far

Awesome, great to hear about all these Road Crew experiences. Hadn't noticed this thread before so I thought I might as well share mine as well. I had been running DCC at my store (Cosmic Oasis) rather infrequently, but the regular players kept using the same characters so I decided to link the modu...

Re: 2012: Transylvanian Adventures & The Transylvanian Grimo

Not to be "that guy" but personally I kind of like the Class names as is. How many fantasy games does the world need with the Paladin, Rogue, etc? To me, the current ones feel pretty evocative of the genre the game's trying to emulate. Of course, at the end of the day names are just names....

Re: Patrons supplement Kickstarter live!

I don't quite get it, so are you making the book in different lengths? Since at $20 you get bonus goals 2&3 and at $25 you get 2-4, the only difference between the two is the extra pages? Yeah, it's not very clear, sadly. This. Maybe I am just burnt out from backing the initial 3 DCC kickstarte...

Re: Levelling up to level 1: time gap in the storyline?

I think either idea is fine (immediate change or a time gap), but for me personally I went having a gap of time pass. For the game I am running online, I decided to start with "Portal" and it wraps up with the survivors determined to follow the life of an adventurer, deciding to part ways ...

Re: 2012: Transylvanian Adventures & The Transylvanian Grimo

Having backed the three main DCC kickstarters, I felt like it was about time I showed some support for TA/TG as well. I have been very interested in this since the original announcement went up. I am a fan of horror films (enjoy the Hammer Horror flicks, of course) so I think this is a great use of ...

Re: DCC in Lexington, Kentucky

I live in Richmond so getting to Lexington is easy. Currently more hyped for DCC than any other tabletop, so I am definitely interested in playing. I'm actually running a game this coming weekend here in Richmond (likely the above mentioned group lol) to try and drum up interest in DCC.

Re: Tales From the Fallen Empire Kickstarter

Might want to do a GM screen as well. +1 on this idea. I'd love to have a GM screen for DCC in general. That mixed with the awesome art that's been revealed so far from Tales From the Fallen Empire to face towards the players would be excellent. Haven't pledged yet myself, but I intend to when the ...

Re: Introductions Thread - Join the Band!

Put me in the running on youngest; mid-20's here. My name is Dustin, but I'm used to being called Hiro through numerous forums so either works for me. I live in eastern Kentucky. I got introduced to tabletop RPG's as I started high school through a friend. Pretty sure AD&D 2e was the thing at th...

Re: PSG: The Crawler's Companion Kickstarter is live!

I designed it to work on lower resolution devices, so certainly the hope and expectation is that it will work on the iPhone, but we'll have to see if there's any unforeseen hurdles when we get to testing. I'll have to do some research on the Touch! Awesome, great to hear! As far as the iPod Touch g...

Re: PSG: The Crawler's Companion Kickstarter is live!

Out of curiosity, would the iPad app be Universal or compatible with iPhone/iPod Touch? Personally, I only own a Touch but having something like this in my pocket would be great. Regardless, this is a brilliant idea. A lot of the gamers in my group already have tablets so an app like this would be r...

Re: Our Day of DCC RPG at Origins 2012

Some awesome artwork. I would have liked to go to Origins, but it was too close in time for me after Forge and too last minute to work something out. Between Forge and Origins, that's quite the lucky Halfling player there. My Smoke Opal dice set for DCC is actually from the eco-friendly line Gamesci...

Re: D&D Next publishing adventures for DCC RPG

The biggest gripe we had about 5e was that it wasn't DCC. I loved this part. Seriously, nice comparrison of the two systems. Your observations closely mirror my own. 5E plays well but doesn't have that spark that makes DCC unique. I have high hopes for 5E but I'm not sure it will beat out OD&...

Re: Purple Sorcerer Games: The Sunken City Starting Adventur

Picked this up on a whim mostly as a "thank you" for the 0-Level Generator (immensely helpful for putting together demos of DCC). That being said, it was very impressive and I'm sold on future releases in the line. Really enjoyed that there was enough of a background that you could potenti...

Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!

Mine came in today here in central Kentucky. Ditto on what everyone has been saying about the size. Book is HUGE and it's amazing. Pretty sure it is the largest RPG book I now own. The PDF does not do the artwork in the book justice and I'm glad the binding is so good since that is usually an issue ...

Re: DCC is DDNext

Well said to the original poster! In fact, about two weeks ago I ran "Portal Under the Stars" at my FLGS for the regular D&D group I am in. One of our players has been in the early closed Beta for D&D NEXT and while he is faithfully keeping the NDA, he commented multiple times both...

Re: Starter Campaign Worlds for Beginners

Glad it helps~ I had the reverse situation. I'm starting some players out in Blackmarsh and, depending on where they take it, I plan to include Southland as an option. One of the rumors I am going to dish out early on is that the kingdom from Southland has an interest in having a hold on Blackmarsh ...

Re: Starter Campaign Worlds for Beginners

I'd also recommend Blackmarsh, free as a pdf, which is in the same vein: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/89944/Blackmarsh It is actually connected to (I believe situated north of) Southland from the first PoL book. Starting with one or the other, you could pretty easily bring in the other to e...

Re: The Next Point of Business

Big +1 on the Judge's Screen. That is probably my most wanted release starting out. Beyond that, much of which has already been mentioned, I'd like to see: -DCC-branded dice set or maybe just a set of the Zocchi dice (I know where to get dice, but I'd like to support Goodman Games through some 'offi...

Re: What do you have in minds for your players?

Greetings everyone, new to the forums but I felt inspired to join after getting my PDF copy of the finished book; so amazing. I ran a few games for some friends online in a play-by-post format back when the Beta first came out. It was a bit slow, but we all really enjoyed it. I promised I'd start a ...
