Re: "Hand Made" Character Sheet
Thank you so much ! I'm glad to hear that. To be honest, these sheets were originally just a draft, a kind of project. My mania for rough scribbling eventually led to the evolution of the thing.

Re: The Emerald Enchanter
Thanks to you Bobjester ! In the end, that was what I had deduced by cross-referencing several pieces of information. That said, I find it curious to have level 3 above level 1, and level 2 below level 1. That's what misled me.

The Emerald Enchanter
Greetings comrades (in case any lonely souls still stray into this neglected forum...) ! If any of you have already played The Emerald Enchanter module, could you tell me whether the stairs in room 1-18 lead up or down ? In fact, I can't work out whether level 3 of the dungeon is lower or higher tha...

Let's be clear about Lucky Roll
A doubt keeps nagging me : if the Lucky Roll remains the same from a character's creation to its death, this modifier only applies to the character's Birth Augur. On the other hand, Luck's characteristic can drop over the course of an adventure (for a variety of reasons), and the modifier needs to b...

Re: Pimp my campaign
They will barter with a mage for this and he is aware that they have the pearl. What will he exchange for it ? I'm not familiar with Cannibal Kingdom but, having played the Tower of the Black Pearl, I think it would be fairly easy to make the characters dependent on the mage they have to haggle wit...

Psionic monsters abilities in Realms of Crawling Chaos
I wasn't sure where to post this message as it refers to a supplement which is not part of the DCC range. It's called "Realms Of Crawling Chaos" and was designed for Labyrinth Lord. I'm just finishing writing a module using some of the things in this supplement and I have some questions ab...

Re: houserule to simulate a race
On reflection, I think it would make more sense to vary the calculation of distance gained according to the protagonist's basic movement. I've started to draw up a table along these lines because it seems obvious to me that a dwarf, even if he makes a very good opposed check, will never be able to c...

houserule to simulate a race
I've just come up with a simple rule to manage chases and I'd like your opinion. Do an opposed Agility test and look at the gap between the pursuers and the pursued : 0 > the gap stay the same, nothing changes 1-3 > +/- 1m 4-7 > +/- 1d3m 8-10 > +/- 1d4m 11-14 > +/- 1d6m 15-18 > +/- 1d7m 20 and more ...

Re: cumulative strength of several characters
Thank you for your interesting comments. After reading your points of view I thought of something else : add a +1 bonus per character, but add +1d per Strength bonus point, which would balance everything out.

cumulative strength of several characters
Hi ! My question may seem a bit silly, but I've been faced with this situation several times. Let's take the example of 3 characters joining forces to break down a door: how is the die roll affected ? Until now, I've added a +1 bonus for each additional character above one. On reflection, shouldn't ...

Re: Advice on typical treasure limits
I don't think there's a standard amount of treasure per module. It depends on too many factors to be able to establish an average. In any case, gold should never give players too great an advantage. They're normally adventurers, so there are plenty of other lures to take them into the dungeon. And s...

Dungeon Crawl Music
The dungeon-synth craze, like all crazes, has produced an incredible number of very average projects, or worse... But this style is perfect for accompanying the creation of old-school modules, and even for playing them ! So I wanted to share some of my discoveries on the subject : https://oldtower.b...

20 natural on saving throw
How do you manage a result of 20 natural on a saving throw against the effect of a higher spell ? Let's say the saving throw DC is 32, and the target rolls 20 on his saving throw, is this considered a failure ? Or should we consider that a natural 20 is always a success ? I'd be interested to hear y...

Re: "Hand Made" Character Sheet
Thanks for your comment Bobjester ! The information is actually in French because that's the language spoken by most of the people - albeit Breton - with whom I play. It's more of a rough draft that should be able to be used to develop a less crude and better-calibrated character sheet in the future...

Thanks for the tip. I used to think that Weird Frontiers wasn't really compatible with DCC but a game with a completely separate system.

Re: non-magical healing
Thanks for your reply Raven, King of the Crows. That's more or less how I handled this non-clerical healing attempt, it seems logical to me. I was also toying with the idea of adjusting the DC depending on whether a character just dropped to 0 hit points or dropped below 0. Perhaps unnecessary compl...

non-magical healing
I recently played a module with no clerics in the group. The question then arose : can a non-cleric character try to stop a haemorrhage by performing rudimentary treatment (tourniquet etc), simply to prevent a companion from dying, thus stopping the inexorable countdown to death depending on the lev...
