Re: Earn Luck points

And another question on the same topic, can a level 0 halfling use his luck burning ability in the same way as a level 1 halfling ? That is to say : can he use it to benefit other characters in the group, and more importantly, does he regain his spent points at the same rate ?

Re: Introductions Thread - Join the Band!

Thanks Bobjester, it's true that the character names you mention sound particularly good. We sometimes underestimate the importance of names, a good sounding name is easier to remember and contributes to a better general atmosphere of the module. On the other hand, the name of my nickname on this fo...

Re: Introductions Thread - Join the Band!

Hello everyone, and welcome to those who have just arrived, Even though I have been registered on this forum for a while, I didn't take the time to introduce myself, even if only briefly. First of all, please excuse my English, I am from Brittany. I discovered DCC a few years ago, the game is now tr...

Re: summon / conjure elemental

The Invoke Patron results 30-31 and 32+ allows the caster to summon elementals. Ithha is the Prince of Elemental Wind, but using this table, you could DIY other elemental lord type patrons, or DIY summon elementals as Dogard suggested above with demons. Thank you for this information, I will look i...

Re: Elves of the fairy tradition or "normal" rpg elves ?

For my part, as a Judge, I chose to allow level 0 elf characters to choose a mithril weapon, a bit like a legacy, a link to their long lineage. This may also lead to some dirty and envious looks from their human adventure companions. I don't think it will throw off the funnel and it will make the di...

Re: Elves of the fairy tradition or "normal" rpg elves ?

In my coffee table book it says: " Because of their sensitivity to iron (as explained below), elf characters are trained from an early age with mithril weapons. Before they depart on a life of adventure, they have acquired mithril equipment. " And how do you handle level 0 elves in a funne...

Re: Earn Luck points

I find that small "luck reservoirs" like that can help smooth out the otherwise huge difference between Thief and other classes in DCC.
Another good idea that I might use too, it's clever.

Re: summon / conjure elemental

Thank you ! I was just asking if this was virgin creative ground... I enjoy the exercise of creating in DCC (spells, gods, patrons) but it requires a lot of time (I'm slow and like to tweak my stuff). So I sometimes look at what has already been done to get ideas.

summon / conjure elemental

Hello, In the monsters and creatures section, it is written that an elemental can be summoned or conjured by a mage with the appropriate spell (p 411). I don't see any details of this spell in the core book, would you have any information about this ? Moreover, it seems that this spell is reserved f...

Re: Patron Bond

Hello, In the spell Patron Bond (result 28-29) it is written : " The gift is a single patron spell, selected from the patron’s spell list. Each time he casts this patron spell or invoke patron, the caster is indebted to his patron, who will call in the debt at some point. " And further on,...

Re: "recovering the body"

I home ruled it to this. Make a only luck modified roll against DC 12. First of all Players HATE to roll a nat 20 to save there characters and fail. For my part, I simply decided to always consider a natural 20 as an automatic success and a natural 1 as an automatic failure, even in the case where ...

spell check fumble

Hello, A point of rules remains for me rather vague, I perhaps did not seek in the good place in the basic book... When a mage gets a fumble on his spell check, can he cancel the bad effects by burning Luck points ? It is written that he cannot counter the harmful effects of arcane reversals. Does t...

This is precisely the point I wanted to make, so you decide to "block" the chance scores at 18 ?

Re: Earn Luck points

I also allow them to permanantly burn a point of luck for a bigger luck bonus than they would get for burning luck temporarily. Good idea, thank you. And what kind of bonuses do you allow them ? How many extra points does a burnt point equal ? There might be other effects that could be generated by...

Earn Luck points

Hello,

When a thief or halfling character gets Luck points at the end of an adventure, what happens ? His Luck score quickly becomes too high. How do you balance this problem ?

Thank you if you can shed any light on this !

Afterwards, I had also thought about the possibility of a free attack from the opponent. I will use your method ! It's funny to see how the rules get more refined as you play more modules... That's also why I like DCC.

Re: Firing into Melee

This is a well done adaptation, I really like the idea of the -2d malus to avoid any risk of hitting an ally. It's true that the fact of hitting an ally for sure in the case of shooting without malus leaves me a bit puzzled, especially in the case of a melee including more opponents than allies. How...

Using missile fire weapon when engaged into melee

Greetings, When a character uses a fire missile weapon while engaged in melee combat, how do you handle the situation ? Is it possible to fire a crossbow at an opponent in contact ? And, if so, what malus should be applied ? I allowed a roll with a -1d malus on the dice chain. Maybe I was too concil...

Until now I kept a...
