Re: Runes
If you're referring to the famous 8-pointed star of Chaos (actually eight outwards-radiating arrows), it's not real, it's an invention of Michael Moorcock: For the opposing force of Law, Moorcock chose to use a single upwards-pointing arrow rune, identical to that of the historical rune, Teiwaz. I ...

Re: What'z your favorite Dwarf look?
You guys, don't you get it? There's no male lead for the women to swoon over, so they had to make the dwarves skinny, hairless, and with abs... This was exactly what I was thinking when I saw the Hobbit movie dwarves for the first time! you nailed it. [drift] Has anyone actually seen the movie yet?...

Re: Mystery Map Adventure Design Competition
If you can afford the printing (and the extra payment to the writer/designers) for the Free RPG, it would be cool to put the alternate maps, as is (rough as they may be) with the outlines on the back in an appendix. I'm thinking you only need 2 or 3 of the alternatives to show the range of what was...

Re: Mystery Map Adventure Design Competition
How about pdfs of the top 15 to all the entrants?
(that way I can see, in fine detail, all the ways the other ones were better than mine, LOL)
Seriously, something like the 1 page dungeon contest perhaps.

Re: Zocchi Dice Buyer's Guide
So the same dice can be found here: http://www.genomicgames.com/store/ Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's a great price, right? and somehow I trust the symmetrical d5 and d7 better than the ones that have two odd faces (the triangle type d5 and pentagon d7). ((I'm sure they do roll true, but I jus...

I too veer towards the classic long beard Gimli in LOTR movie look.
Thorin in the Hobbit movies looks more Klingon to me, but some of them look right.
This dwarf illo is pretty bad ass:

I think that makes me #5 if I'm counting right...
If not, I'd love to play if there's room. Is it 4 0 level fodder each?

Re: Brave Halfling Publishing: Appendix N Adventures
I think one detail that might be overlooked here is that people or companies need KS to get the funding they need in order to complete projects. To buy art for a RPG product is costly, and then if no one buys the product you're out a ton of money with nothing to show for it. The point of KS is to pr...

Re: Making an Elric
I think in the final Elric story Moorcock drops some big hints that Stormbringer is actually Satan. So yeah, badass.
I like the dual stats idea. It seems he's got a Con of about 1 unless he's on his drugs or drawing power from StormBringer.
and Patrons patrons patrons!

Howdy! I'm Bill. DCC intrigues me. I play Castles & Crusades and X-Plorers nowadays; Cut my teeth on 2nd ed AD&D right during the opening of 2nd ed (first serious group hadn't really made the switch to 2nd ed but had the books... being a total newb I couldn't tell the difference (there weren...

Re: Which brings up an interesting PbP point...
HI. I've done PbP on other forums (TLG, Playing and later Running C&C) and it has its challenges. But it is better than not playing at all. What I find helps, is having a string of prerolled numbers (e.g. d20: 6,16,5,19,18,1,20, 12...) you don't even know what they'll be for, saves, attacks, wha...
