I guess I just have a different perspective on all this, and can't wrap my head around the vehemence against a game that no one has seen yet. Disinterest, I could get, but what generally sounds like hatred, I just can't grok. When characters advancing to 20 levels was introduced and weapons got diff...

yeah, we are a bunch of old farts. We can finally say, " yeah, I remember back when you had a dagger, three hit points, and a sleep spell." I'm not saying that fourth edition is going to be a bad game, I'm just saying that I just don't like how they are monkeying with the game for the sak...

....It looks like its going to be everything that the 4e is saying its going to be except that it's not murdering years and years of gaming table memories. Boy there are a lot of points I'd like to discuss in your post, but this one most of all firstest. So the impression is that DDI is required ? ...

I think WOTC has made it extremely clear that 4E is going to be much more of a powergaming munchkins fantasy come true than even 3E is. Doesn't take much brains to see the truth of that. And there's one vote for me having no brains. They have....? I must have been dozing.... I know I will...

So...how did it go? Did you run Crypt or something else? Thanks for asking. I realize now my original post is a bit vauge.... We only just started planning for the "Halloween" game this year, whereas usually we've already run it by now.... This year, it'll be a "Thanksgiving" ga...

Good question.... I have a lot of orc minis, from all across the years/editions. I now assume that orcs are extremely mutable and often horribly interbred. So some look pig-like, some are Cro and there are various shades inbetween. I try to pick up at least one orc mini each year in the flea market ...

How, if I rate Justice, etc. high, did it peg me as a Barbarian? Also, I'm generally confused by these quizes... am I supposed to answer on how I'd like t...

Good stories always remind gamers of other good stories! Once, we were shrunk down to a very small scale and were fighting a group of goblins that were repelling down these ropes (threads, actually) by the dozens from a tabletop to the floor we were on, and round by round they were gaining more and ...

Crypt of the Devil Lich ...how long did it take you?

I may be running the Crypt in a few weeks at an all-day session. [sidebar] The group I'm in (since 1992) usually has a Halloween game every year where we dust off characters we haven't played in a while (years) and reunite them for a new adventure. We usually start around 10 AM and have a big ol' ba...

Hmm. Sort of, I guess. Maybe more correct to say that the gods of Áereth are divinities of methods , not emotions. Excellent refinement. I was thinking "how things are done, not why" - I bow to your superior vocabulistic nuancing (okay, I made those terms up). When the Greek and Roman pan...

That is a good idea, even if I don't know much about #19.

So, the short answer is the gods of Áereth are divinities of actions, not emotions. :D

What is a "Spidey-Tracer"? :?: Though not an oft-used trick, Spider-Man has these wee little gizmos that he can fling onto villains or get-away cars or anything really, that he can then track using his "spider-sense". Generally, when he's slumped on a rooftop, all beaten up with...

I'm just guessing here, but the bonuses for abilities could be something like this (the italic bits are from the card itself): 2-3 -1 | 4-5 +0 | 6-7 +1 | 8-9 +2 | 10-11 +3 | 12-13 +4 | 14-15 +5 | 16-17 +6 | 18- 19 +7 This could be totally wrong, but if it were at least close: You get bonuses for sta...

Interesting that some attacks will go straight to your saves, instead of hitting your AC (or touch AC) first and then requiring a save. I like it (its similar to Saga Edition Star Wars RPG). And it looks like something finally happens when you get low on hit points! No more fighting bad guys who don...

I probably should have pointed out that I own the mods, but not the linking book... But it sounds like it could be done, with perhaps a home brew to bring some leveling up to the party at the appropriate point (or maybe a TSR redux?).
