This isn't the reply you were looking for, but--I intend to run Ripper soon, too, so we can share experiences depending on who completes it first.

'Bout the best I can offer for now.

I'm not sure if I should cheer for your diligence, or weep for your...rolling-eyed, sweaty-palmed, hovering-on-the-brink-of-madness obsession.

(And hell, after a few drinks I'll likely do both.)

Can I say it's well received even before it comes out, let alone arrives in my grubby paws?!?

This is one feverish purchaser who is extremely excited now, too. It won't arrive soon enough! (drools)

I've been yammering away in this thread, but I'll just say this & shut up:

Humans are the most evil, terrible, amazing and vile creatures when they want to be. Just remember high school. That's my vote.

Thanks, Harley. I was wondering if the writer of the adventure was gonna chime in, and I'm glad I wasn't disappointed. :) I figured the Gnarley was a good spot. We're going to be in the Dyvers/Wooly Bay area, so that works perfectly. Just sad that "Gnarley" was chosen as it's name (and is ...

And if anyone has a decent suggestion as to where I can put Wildsgate in the Domain of Greyhawk (i.e. somewhere around the Nyr Dyv region)--even if I have to rename Wildsgate to a pre-established city--I'd be grateful.

Thanks for the kind words about The Adventure Begins , Ogrepuppy. Dude, I am pimpin' this book wherever I can , my man. (Assuming you're both a dude and man.) Here's a cool monster that can be low level yet is highly underused: Neogi. Smart, alien, and arrogant as crap. (And "scale-able."...

OMFG, that set is so totally mine.

*thrusts wads of money at Goodman Games*

Here. Just take it now.

Sigh.

My only regret is that the first group I've ever GM'ed (in a long, LONG time) is starting this week, and I want this set now.

Need a playtester?

Specifically, I'm looking for info regarding how you doled out the background info. Did you give them a pile of info up front ("This is what you know about Wildsgate: __insert background info here__") or did you let them draw out the info piece by piece via interaction with the NPCs? In ot...

Into The Wilds (Playwithbob welcome) * * DMs ONLY * *

Hi! I'm hoping Playwithbob or anyone else that's run this adventure will tell me how it went, what your players did, how you hooked them, rough spots they might have encountered, etc. It's the front-runner as far as kicking off my new little campaign, and I'd love to get any advice, warnings, praise...

Re: Discussion over on the Necromacer boards

The module seems to be well liked. You determined that from the responses? Hunh, maybe I followed the wrong link. There were one or two people bashing it pretty hard, and everyone else being sheep and saying "Well, if it's that bad I'd better not corrupt my precious eyes by even looking at it,...

Actually, it was while leafing through Tsathzar Rho, some of the WotC adventures, and then seeing Transmuter's Last touch (DCC #31) that I began to see an ugly trend.... I'm just tired of the little punks* and almost always swap them out with humans or other critters. Cool, congratulations Harley!

Please don't stop writing great adventures, though--you are one of the best authors GG has.

In other words, just because you're now editor that doesn't mean you can't slip your own stuff in the admission pile now and again, right?!?

Either way--good luck!

DCC writers challenge regarding kobolds and rats

Hi. I'm new around here, but I've been reading D&D related books for a few decades. I just started DMing recently when I realized I've got to defecate or get off the pot, to put it indelicately, when it comes to my favorite hobby. So I'm trying to find cool low-level adventures and noticed an ob...

This book is flipping GREAT . I'm a fledgling DM, but have been reading the books and modul--err, "adventures" for many decades now. This is one of the few books that made me sit up and say, " I can be a DM, too." Every adventure was sufficient to give a framework of plot, but hi...

Personally, I get tired of kobolds as 1st level monsters. So I intended to swap them out. I always imagined a Lovecraft-inspired monster would be good given the Background info for this module. But what kind? Most of them are too powerful! So I created a new monster type in my head, called them the ...
