Quest For It is the beating heart of the game.
Indeed, hence my phrasing in my post.
On a side note, and I know this has been said by others before, that quote really needs to be a t-shirt.

Purple Planet Box Set

I love physical books. I put up with pdf copies when that's all I can find, but I vastly prefer physical books I can hold in my hand. In fact, if there are two books of interest and one is available in physical format and the other is pdf, I'll take the physical book 100% of the time. And box sets.....

Re: Prioritizing DCC Purchases

The perfect funnel module to unify a new adventurers band is Sailors On The Starless Sea, in my opinion. Otherwise, I completely agree with Ravenheart87, the rather cluttered and dense aspect of DCC productions allows a great leeway and a lot of choices, without ever having really "need" ...

Pick up the core rules. Make sure you have dice, pencils, and paper. Pick up a Ready Reference Book. http://dcctreasures.blogspot.ca/2016/12/dcc-rpg-reference-booklet.html Bookmark the free tools from Purple Sorcerer and/or download the Crawler's Companion app. https://www.purplesorcerer.com/grimoi...

Prioritizing DCC Purchases

DCC has been around for a decade now, and between all of the official Goodman Games products, along with the plethora of excellent 3pp books/zines/adventures, there is literally thousands of dollars worth of content for a new player to catch up on. So, those of you who have been with this amazing ga...

It seems obvious but I find it difficult to get rid of certain reflexes accumulated after years of AD&D ! Here is another reflex from AD&D to beware: Checking for every item. Roll for the important/big stuff and then roll for other things if you need to. A fall into a pit should not result ...

Re: The extremity of the DCC Luck Check

In my experience, games that try to provide a rule for every situation and attempt to create uniformity in said rules inevitably create a fertile breeding ground for Rules Lawyers and arguments at the table. DCC, on the other hand, leaves so much to the discretion of the Judge that it is virtually i...

Re: The extremity of the DCC Luck Check

I think that you and I are really looking at this game from very different perspectives. Where you see bugs, I see features, and vice versa. That said, Quest For It applies to judges as well as players. You are not only entitled to make it the game you want, you should do so! Why settle for anythin...

I can see your point, and I can appreciate where you are coming from. Personally though, the issues you lament are what I see as strengths. One of the things that started to frustrate me when playing D&D and Pathfinder was the level of completeness to the settings. So much was fleshed out by the...

Re: the DCC play style and world-building

You are free to modify the adventure any way you like. My understanding of DCC (and its modules) is that it assumes the Judge will tailor the game to the needs of the table. This is why so many elements are left undefined or under defined. Most modern games spoon feed you everything they want you to...

By chance, have any of you fleshed out the two gods mentioned in this adventure? I'm willing and able to do it myself, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone else has already put in the work for public consumption. Paul Wolfe would be the best person to ask. You might be able to contact ...
