Re: Question about "Withdrawl," page 95

I have allowed Warriors to use their Deed to defend when withdrawing, or to defend an ally, to prevent the free attack.

Re: Suggestions for Frazettian Sword & Sorcery DCC modules

Thank you very much... though randomly googling a couple of suggestions, I get many instances of "default world" adventures I cannot immediately distinguish from the regular faux-medieval gygaxian take. It's almost too much advice :) it would almost be better if you just provided those fe...

Re: Suggestions for Frazettian Sword & Sorcery DCC modules

Congrats on discovering Death Slaves! I agree; it is excellent! Here are some things you might want to look at. Not every thing on this list is going to meet your needs, but it is a place to start. Some of these items have entries in the DCC Trove of Treasures, which might give you more insight: htt...

Re: DCC campaigns without Clerics?

DCC Lankhmar has no clerics, and addresses this. I would have to look up the exact rules, but I believe it is something along the lines of: You can spend 1 Luck per level to dress/examine your wounds, regaining 1 HD. Drinking various alcoholic draughts increases your healing. Thank you. I would ass...

Re: Level-0 characters and Weapons Training

However, explaining "it's different because other rules are different" is no real explanation. Why do skill checks and attack rules follow different rules? What made the designers diverge them? The underlying d20 game engine is unified, and complication for complication's sake is not a be...

Re: Run ! Movement & Run ?

Thank you very much for your responses. I have not seen the Fence's Fortuitous Folly for Lankhmar yet. Is it included in the Lankhmar box ? Have a nice day ! Not in the box; sorry. The adventure includes a chase scene where normal rules are eschewed for what (to my mind when I wrote it, and seeming...

Re: Level-0 characters and Weapons Training

Check page 78. Using an untrained weapon is a -1d penalty, so 1d16 not 1d10. Hmm. so untrained weapon usage is different from untrained usage in general. How unfortunate. Unfortunate how? Skill checks and attack rolls follow different rules. * There are no fumbles or crits with skills. * A natural ...

Note also that, regardless of the class you choose, you are always considered trained in the last funnel weapon you used. So if Sue picks up a longbow, and then becomes a wizard, she is trained in the longbow.

Re: Patrons and Familiars Before Play

Another silly question... if you were running a game that started at 1st level or had a downtime between 0th and 1st level, would you let characters start with familiars and/or patrons? Yes, but I would have the player decide which to do first, and how much spellburn they wanted to spend. Then I wo...

My first post will be a silly question, awesome? I'll introduce myself later, when I'm not posting by phone. Would you allow a player to attempt to "relearn" a spell hoping for a better Mercurial Magic result, provided they did the in-game work of finding a tutor, a scroll, a captured spe...

Re: cast higher level spells

I'd stick with 1st level spells at 1st Level. But if they discovered a higher level spell than they'd normally qualify for, they could try to learn it and cast it, leaving the gamble up to them... The class has a maximum spell level by level, and your Intelligence also affects your maximum spell le...
