Roll two Zocchihedrons in the manner of percentiles...??
I do own a d10,000.

Sort of. d10s designed to roll that high.

Pick up the core rules. Make sure you have dice, pencils, and paper. Pick up a Ready Reference Book. http://dcctreasures.blogspot.ca/2016/12/dcc-rpg-reference-booklet.html Bookmark the free tools from Purple Sorcerer and/or download the Crawler's Companion app. https://www.purplesorcerer.com/grimoir...

Re: 20 point spell burn

The way I see it, "natural" is the key word in "natural 20." You get the benefits of a natural roll (i.e. crit). And you also get the spellburn bonus to your roll. But the roll is still a roll added to the 20. You have made your interpretation clear. Thank you. Now, what do you ...

B, excepting the 20 is the limit for spellburn, so 20 + bonuses for level and Int modifier (doubled as per critical success).Use only when you know this is what you need!

Re: Advice on Intrigue at the Court of Chaos

I'm struggling with the author's intent regarding rewards: If the party assists a particular member of the court, the handout lists a handful of possible rewards. Is the party supposed to get one of these items, a couple, or all of them? I wouldn't think all of them since they are all pretty powerf...

Re: Saving Throws on items that can break ?

It seems obvious but I find it difficult to get rid of certain reflexes accumulated after years of AD&D ! Here is another reflex from AD&D to beware: Checking for every item. Roll for the important/big stuff and then roll for other things if you need to. A fall into a pit should not result ...

Re: Saving Throws on items that can break ?

I would consider using Luck checks, using smaller dice for items that are unlikely to be damaged, and larger dice for particularly vulnerable items.

You know, having a rules discussion forum really is pointless if nothing is wrong and nothing ever needs improvement...and if the solution to every problem is "just fix it yourself", that means there's nothing left to discuss. :? Yeah, but if your living room is exactly the way you want i...

Re: The extremity of the DCC Luck Check

I think that you and I are really looking at this game from very different perspectives. Where you see bugs, I see features, and vice versa. That said, Quest For It applies to judges as well as players. You are not only entitled to make it the game you want, you should do so! Why settle for anything...

"The die is never affected by the dice chain" I have fixed the error. Thanks. Do you have any comment regarding the greater issue? Yes: I do not see this issue as a problem. Characters with more luck are luckier. Thieves and halflings, in particular, are tempted to use their Luck, which m...

Re: Opinions on Cleric lvl 1 spell Second Sight

I am not defining success by the idea that someone, somewhere, might find a use for it. I am defining success by it being extremely useful as written. I don't think it needs fixing, because I do not think it is broken.

YYMV, and obviously does.

It is so useless that players salivate over getting it.

If you define any spell by minimum success, then, yes, many are useless.

By chance, have any of you fleshed out the two gods mentioned in this adventure? I'm willing and able to do it myself, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone else has already put in the work for public consumption. Paul Wolfe would be the best person to ask. You might be able to contact ...

Game starts too soon to change going with Eternity's suggestion (renaming Cleric into Cultist), but I will definitely check that out.

Okay. You are looking for something very, very specific. Most adventures are written to be as widely applicable as possible. You may wish to check out The Palace of Unquiet Repose (The Merciless Merchants). I think that hits your mark. The Black Goat (Purple Duck Games) might fit into your setting, ...
