Re: I had it! Time to go!
Why can't people wash? DCC soap on a rope? (i think I have suggested this before) I shudder when I go into my local gaming store to browse and maybe buy something as the players stink of BO. They certainly help with stereotyping gamers as socially inept...which is as I am sure many of you demonstrat...

Re: Go to sleeeeeep....zzzz
This week... Jewels of the Carnifex. How do we get across that (at the start) chasm? Er, Spider Climb...from an Elf with +2d casting (genuine rolled mercurial). A d30 rolled...28...plus bonuses..ah I see, woah. Oh look now I have a group of players with webslinging, wallcrawling, entagling superpowe...

Re: Go to sleeeeeep....zzzz
Cheers Flexi :) ...and thanks to the others for the comments btw. I am building my house of cards ready to come tumbling down with my easy going approach. I fully expect it to go horribly wrong and for the players to find ways to abuse the system but this is our first proper spell at playing DCC and...

Re: Go to sleeeeeep....zzzz
My player said he thrust his dagger into himself and punctured his lung...
That may or may not affect his character in future, depends how it goes.
I am not looking for any sort of agreement in my ruling here
I am happy with the way it played out. Just sharing

Re: Just modules?
and... There was talk of an annual of official 'stuff' from Goodman Games too! I think the balance is spot on, great work from third parties here. Did anyone mention that we have the x-plorers sci-fi conversion coming too in those links? Me personally, I loves me those modules, bought every one so f...

Re: Go to sleeeeeep....zzzz
It said 500 yards...for a 100 years. Save of 40+ only if over 4HD. I was happy to let it work after two of their favourite characters just got killed. I love it when extraordinary things happen, good or bad. That's why I like DCC. It doesn't restrain events in service of 'game balance' something I f...

Go to sleeeeeep....zzzz
So, just ran The Emerald Enchanter. Without spoiling as best as I can: The group took the shorter way to the climactic battle with the Enchanter. 2 Warriors entered the room and were promptly vapourised by a rather excellent magic missile. The group's elf enters, uses 19 points of spellburn...gets a...

Re: Is ddc for me?
I am currently running DCC and have recently ran LL (well, actually B/X but same difference). I love both. My players love DCC more. One player I have, isn't a massive fan of old school D&D. He was and still is a massive fan of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (before the latest Fantasy Flight version...

Re: clarification on Mighty Deeds of Arms
I think the risk factors in play come more from the 9 headed frog demon of doom trying to squish the fighter enjoying doing all these cool things and not from some mechanical system.

Re: Character Sheet and examples of play
Yes, they are the official sheets. There has been talk of new sheets, illustrated etc but at the moment these are what have been provided by Goodman Games. Don't forget to check around the forums for info and examples of play and the like. As to playing with minis...use them if you like, the game do...

Re: Making an Elric
Unless you make up a new class...I say Elf. He is a skilled fighter and sorcerer...the sword augments his ability for the most I think. Stats can always go up or down temporarily due to magic effects, drugs and items so I should use that approach. I wouldn't double stat him because his improvements ...

The way I see things..those themes, backgrounds, feats, expertise talents and all the other little shiny things look to me as though they will probably be standard but they way you acquire them will be down to varying degrees of complexity depending on whether you fancy playing 'Basic', 'Standard' o...

He sounds like he is trying hard to deliver.

Re: Expertise Dice
I quite liked the idea that WoTC would reclaim the OGLthingy by taking all the cool ideas other companies found for it and then using the very best of them. What they have done started out looking pretty cool and much to my liking but with each iteration of the playtest I have downloaded...I have be...

Any chance of free pdf downloads for things like the map for players to draw on?
That would be really useful.
