Re: An attempt at Demogorgon as a patron
A highly personal quibble (and very much one of personal taste), but I'd also change any references to "tanar'ri" to "demons". The whole change of demons to tanar'ri, devils to baatezu, and daemons to yuguloth in 2e was a reaction to the Satanic Panic of the period, an attempt t...

Thanks Sean, I always appreciated your youtube videos so I expect nothing less with this supplement.
I think you see darker patrons more often because that's how they are described mostly in the book as being dark.

Re: An attempt at Demogorgon as a patron
Very cool. I really like this: 3.) The prince of demons laughs at your miserable mortal existence and lashes out with his tail. The caster ages 1d4 years and suffers normal spell burn This may be a bit too powerful for the low Spell Check results. But you can mitigate it with some free Patron Taint...

Re: Character age
Really? I love traps like that as a player and as a DM. I have fond memories as a kid reading about undead in the old monster manuals and how they would age those they touched and I always thought that was a really cool and powerful side effect. but to each DM their own I suppose.

An attempt at Demogorgon as a patron
It's all below, feel free to comment suggest tweaks etc.. this is my first time trying this. I fully admit borrowing heavily from the book in certain areas which helped me to put this together. Demogorgon Demogorgon the Prince of All Demons in power alone. Demogorgon appears as an 18-foot-tall (5.5 ...

Re: Character age
I completely agree with the above. The only thing I could see differing is how you look at the magic that is aging them and if that would make the user smarter etc... i guess magical aging makes me think of lichdom so the possibility for stats to go up and make sense is there. Id also consider thing...

Re: Converting 3rd edition Skills and Feats to DCC RPG
Mid levels DCC (4-7) are really rough to judge when converting. In 3.5 that could be 8-14th level BUT in general the DCC characters are both more powerful in raw ability and less powerful in magic and hit points/saves ect.. I normally just eyeball it and half the monsters hit points or what have yo...

Re: Deed actions that would insta-kill an enemy
I'd agree with doing a save if the foe wouldn't already bite it from the blow in the first place like the basic cultists in Potp. You get an Agility check and that's it if you try to move more than half your speed down the steps so I think there's already precedence for falling over the edge.

Re: Converting 3rd edition Skills and Feats to DCC RPG
Thanks guys all those tips will be really valuable. My party is that high because when they have died I havent made them restart at 0. Is that what most of you guys do in the event of death? I was also curious to see the high level of the game and see how it runs. I must say its surprisingly smooth.

Converting 3rd edition Skills and Feats to DCC RPG
Hello All, My party is pushing up past 4th level and I can't find any modules that have been released past 4th level for DCC RPG. It seems like it might be easier to convert 3.5 then to try and up the power of some lower level DCC RPG modules. So I started taking a look at converting some Goodman Ga...

Re: Animal Summoning
Thanks for the reply. While not the quick solution I was hoping for that should work in the temporary. I'm running through a module on my own just to see how some of the battles and mechanics work before I try to actually run people through it.

Animal Summoning
Hey All, So i've been digging through the book and I don't really see many animals listed in the monsters. What have you other Judges been using when a wizard casts animal summoning? Im really just looking for some different combat statistics and maybe some variety if I can find it. Im unfamiliar wi...

Re: Patron Pagnyr'Parkus
Looks pretty cool to me, I haven't compared to the core book patrons but I like the flavor and the abilities seem pretty powerful. Have you come up with patron taints yet, i'd be interested to see those? One note on "The Battle Lust of Pagnyr’Parkus" I don't know that i'd let priests get a...

Hey Raven, is this something your planning on carrying on after the 0 level or just a test? I'm kind of looking for some longer term games if possible is the only reason I ask.

Indeed the very premise is to keep it going... I have a lot of respect for those that do it well. From reading most of your Barrowmaze PbP RavenCrowKing I believe you sir have the the skill to keep that puppy going no matter what happens. I hope that my Sailors on the Starless sea turns out to be ju...

Re: Appendix M: The Monster Blog
I love the art and I am completely jealous. Stick figures are difficult for my untrained hands so i've always been jealous of good artists. Especially when I open the DCC book it makes me happy to see the amazing work and then angry that I wasn't blessed with the gift lol.

Re: *Spoilers* People of the Pit - Area 1-19 The Looping Maz
Yeah the PbP format is what seems harder to work with but I think I turn it into situation where the players push how they handle it and i'll dole out the consequences as I see fit. I think the only thing i'll start with is the feeling of being compelled and see how the players take it. In person I ...

Additional Spellburn action tables
So I have realized in my group that it seems to work better and is more fun for my group if I randomly roll up the implications of spellburn. My question is if anyone knows of a 3rd party product or has themselves come up with additional spellburn actions to add to the original table? I unfortunatel...

Indeed recruiting more into the hobby is the way to go. They will eventually be drawn by the chaotic patron's and stories of power they hear from DCC... it will slowly call out and drag them into the abyss with the rest of us!

Very true sometimes we as DM's forget that we have to live with the consequences too so we should be prepared to face them if we will include them.
