The Wizards of Ur -- New sketch blog from DCC Artist.

Post by Pewfell »

Hi, I'm Chuck Whelon, one of the cover artists for Dungeon Crawl Classics - I did 'Aerie of the Crow God', 'Assault on Stormbringer Castle', 'Dungeon interludes', and 'Dungeon Geomorphs' among others (You can see a page of my DCC work here).

I also did all the illustrations for Goodman Games' "Geek Wars" card game.

Outside of the stuff I've done for Joseph I am also the creator of the long-running weekly fantasy webcomic "Pewfell".

The reason I'm posting here now is that recently I teamed up with Heavy Metal Magazine artist A.P. Furtado, Atland creator Nate Piekos and phenomenal comic artist and RPG author James V. West to start a new sketch blog for all fans of old-school, Heavy-Metal, D&D inspired, cartoon fantasy comics and artwork.

We're pledged to provide our readers with regular helpings of that mouth-watering, sci-fi/fantasy goodness they love, by frequently posting our latest and greatest art, sketches, comics pages, and more.

Come and check it out now at:

In the ancient lands of Ur there roamed a class of warrior wizards, whose sole mission was to enlighten the world through their arcane scribblings and mystical arts. Swords in hand, pens at the ready, these Wizards of Ur were a remarkable force with unrivaled powers. Their like, it was said, would not walk the earth again until the time of humanity’s direst need.

Jumping on the end of this old thread in case anyone is interested in getting one of the original cartoons I did for the DCCRPG rulebook? I'm running a Kickstarter for my webcomic "Pewfell" and am offering some of the original cartoons as pledge rewards. There are 4 left and just 30 hours to go:
