1E Modules?
What ever happened to the line of 1E modules that Black Blade was supposed to roll out? They looked really promising.
Was that cancelled? If it was I missed the announcement.

Re: 1E Modules?
Jon can you tell you more, but in short, he got distracted by some other projects he was working on.
But who needs 1E anyway when you have an old-school product in the works?

I need 1E.
But old school product sounds interesting.

Yes, 1E can fit many different clones and offshoots.
It would be great to see #26 The Scaly God converted to 1E. It's a very cool adventure.

Re: 1E Modules?
Glad you enjoyed the adventure WW. Your humble authors always enjoy hearing the war stories.
As a man who began with 1e, I wouldn't mind converting SG (informally) I ever can make the time!

Re: 1E Modules?
Hey, great question welland_warrior!
I can tell you with much conviction that the AD&D conversions of the very popular DCC adventures have not been cancelled. Au contraire mon fraire!
When Black Blade Publishing took on the Swords & Wizardry product line last September, it literally consumed super-sized portions of our time and energy. Managing the physical production of the S&W books, maintaining the Black Blade online store, performing order fulfillment, and doing most of the marketing and convention support - doing all of that took a huge amount of time and energy.
With the recently announced course change for Swords & Wizardry, with the whole product line moving to Frog God Games, we should see the amount of time available for other projects increase. Our hope is to resume our focus on the projects we had on the drawing board when Black Blade was launched in early 2009. In particular, the AD&D conversions of some of the better DCCs will be moving up in priority on our projects list. Specifically, the next two DCC conversions we’ll be releasing will be DCC #32 The Golden Palace of Zahadran and DCC # 40 The Devil in the Mists. The Golden Palace of Zahadran should see release in the fall.
DCC #26 is on the list of DCC conversions I want to do. I haven’t read it in some time, but I remember thinking it might be a good candidate for conversion to AD&D.
Thanks for the interest!

Re: 1E Modules?
Hey Rick -
Thanks for the vote of confidence. If we do convert DCC #26 for release under AD&D, I hope we do it justice in your estimation.
Quick question for you - I pulled DCC #26 up to give it a quick perusal today and noticed what might be either
(a) a simple coincidence,
(b) an Easter egg hidden away, or
(c) a tip of the hat to one of the old guard from TSR
The troglodyte shaman's name is Ssustre. So, is this a simple coincidence, an Easter egg hidden away, awaiting to be found, or a tip of the hat to one of the old guard from TSR (Dennis Sustare)?
It's probably just a coincidence that the names are somewhat similar, but I thought it worth asking.

Re: 1E Modules?
Jon,
Good knowledge of TSR staffers! Nice to know I'm not the only old-timer around these parts.
The shaman's name was pure invention, with no meaning beyond sounding lizard-ish in my mind (answer [a] is other words). The only Easter egg of sorts is the hidden temple (which was definitely meant to evoke both the Elder Elemental God and Tharizdun).

Re: 1E Modules?
Ah, t'was pure coincidence then. Very well.
But placing an Easter egg in the hidden temple, which said egg (EGG???) in and of itself was meant to evoke recollections of both the Elder Elemental God and Tharizdun??? Good god, man! You loaded up DCC# 26 with the quasi-Greyhawk imagery! Must.read.soon.!
Muhahaha!

Exactly why this module should be at the top of the list for a conversion
