Also, yep, the book is gigantic. But a ton of that is spells and art. The Quick Start will get you, um, started quickly, and you add bits from the main rules from there...

I believe you're talking to someone whose posts have been deleted. So could the answer be "because I'm a spammer who posts innocuous messages and once past the filter, replaces the content with spam links"?

Exactly -- gave them a chance, because it's not always easy to be 100% sure it's a spammer. I've deleted hundreds of obvious spammers, and occasionally there's someone I'm giving the benefit of the doubt because they *could be* genuine.
