Deeds, Succeeds, & Attacks

Hello,

When a Deed fails, can the attack still succeed ? For example, a dwarf announces a Disarm Deed on his opponent, his Deed fails. Can its attack do any damage and, if so, is the bonus Deed Dice (d3 in this case) taken into account ?

It seemed odd to me that an attack aimed at disarming could turn into a normal attack, so I told the player the attack was failing, am I wrong ?

Yes, if you roll the AC of the enemy or higher you score a regular hit.

The Deed die adds to attack and damage even if it is a 1 or a 2.

The Deed die can only make it better, never any worse.

It would not be an attack to disarm -- it's an attack AND an attempt to disarm. Deeds are always in addition to the attack. Classes without Deeds can attack with the aim to disarm, but do no damage even if they succeed.

It's part of what makes Warriors and Dwarfs special.
