I know the correct answer is "Heavy Metal" and not even "lute & harp", but we always played Punk Rock for our gaming sessions in the '80s, especially the soundtracks to Repo Man and Return Of The Living Dead. I've been trying to reconcile hardcore punk with gaming, and here's what I've got: Both were underground hobbyist movements built on zines and DIY production. Both require full audience participation. And both will make you commit suicide. Yes, metal will make you commit suicide AND worship the devil, but RPGs still seem like the ultimate punk rock hobby to me. So much so that we even made our own "Punk Rock RPG" (if that's possible) about punkers fighting zombies (RotLD meets They Live), and as you can see, each character class comes with a list of recommended punk bands:

I love the thought of Punk Rock Stars existing as the Gods of a DCCRPG setting.
Re: One vote for PUNK ROCK!
I love both but have never crossed the streams. Though the D&D soundtrack through my high school years was Glenn Danzig's Black Aria on repeat, so not that far off either.brainszine wrote:Any other punk nerds out there wanna give a hell yeah? Or is that the sound of crickets I hear?
