I'd like to run FIT using Pathfinder rules (heresy, I know).
What level PF characters should my players create in order to survive the level 1 DCC RPG adventure?

To me, it seems underpowered even for level 1 PF characters....

Re: Frozen In Time using Pathfinder
FIT is more like a funhouse dungeon, not an encounter fest. Some encounters are easy, some aren't harmful at all, and every one of them can be avoided easily. For example my players cast eternal sleep on the saber-tooth bear, charmed the yeti (he became a PC once the wizard died, good times!), avoided the bugs, killed the healing orb, killed the droid, killed the anthro-antis, ran away from the owlbear, and at the end they teleported away the T-rex with the rod (that was a pretty smart move). On the other hand, there are plenty of traps and environmental hazards that can f*ck you up. Two casualties we had were from an exploding energy rifle and falling down the crevice while escaping from the complex.Ogrepuppy wrote:To me, it seems underpowered even for level 1 PF characters....
If you want to make the encounters more powerful, buff up the monsters while converting them to Pathfinder. I don't know the monster creation rules for Pf, but I'm pretty sure DCC stats are a bit weaker by default when it comes to Hit Points and saves.

Do they make zeroth level Pathfinder characters? Or minus-oneth level...?

They likely do, but I'd rather use 3rd level PF characters.

PF has completely different encounter logic than DCC. in pf almost everything is solved via tactical combat and escalating number of encounters is necessary for character advancement.
amp up random encounters and buff up already existing ones and give out XPs for just encountering something.
