Nothing unusual or valuable. The oval bone plates on their heads are now room temperature.

Cautiously approaching the light, you do see a side passage branching off the tunnel to the right and running off into the distance. Although hazy with bright green vapor, light shines from its far end. You note as well that the air has grown warmer and you're sweating beneath your furs and clothing.

OOC: And then there were 14...
Marching order unless I head otherwise...

When/where possible, Voorak will move up, unless there are protests....Aiming for fourth or third position. Perhaps one 'step' ahead per turn?

Of course, if we do reach a 'room' of some kind, we'll deal with that as we come to it.

But I'm all for keeping the party together right now.

Willoughby and Dibbon are silent as they recover what they can from the bodies of their fallen comrades. The hunter (Will) comforts the pup.

Grasping Dead Rabbit's strange-looking rock, Dibbon says, "Well then, let's get of of this gods-forsaken tunnel into somewhere we can swing our weapons!"

You scramble along the secondary tunnel for a distance of 30' before reaching its terminus.

A 3' square hole covered by a mesh of shiny thin sticks of silverock* stands before you, breaking the monotony of the tunnel. Beyond this grating is a mist-filled chamber, its dimensions impossible to discern. Through the emerald-colored smoke, you barely make out an L-shaped metal housing which seems to have once covered the opening through which you peer, but which now lies askew about 5' below you on the floor.

The mist glows slightly, illuminated by a source overhead you cannot make out.

After hearing the information relayed back to the rest of the group, Dibbon fishes around in his large sack and retrieves a heavily engraved length of sturdy metal with prying teeth on either end.

"This was my father's pry-bar." He says. "It is told, that there are many like it, though this one is mine."

He passes the crowbar up the line to Grump and Bjorn. "I would like to die standing up straight, rather than hunched over in this tunnel."

Bjorn-Bear-Mother: "Agreed."
Bjorn hands the pry bar to Grump.

[Kurr and Myrna would likely be further back, having planned to get to the other tunnel now thinking better of it. Blackfeet falls in wherever he can.]

The grate pops off easily.

It's about a 5' drop into the mist-filled room.

Though, as I am fond of ascii maps (for instance made using http://asciiflow.com/), it appears that these boards (1) do not have an option for fixed width fonts that I have found yet and (2) do not like extra white-space in responses and will "helpfully" truncate it for you. Again, there may be a way around these... I am learning.

The floor is solid, there is plenty of room to spread out at the bottom, and you detect no immediate threats... although the chamber is stiflingly hot and green vapor fills the air, making it difficult to see more than 10' ahead of you. Odd, bulky shapes, many bearing a myriad of small blinking lights of various hues, loom out of the fog in front of and to either side of you. The walls and floor are constructed of smooth interlocking white plates crafted from a hard, unknown material. A diffused light shines from above, emitted by squares set up in the ceiling.

"Demon Dogs! What is this place?" Voorak circles the room as much as space will allow. Wary of inhabitants, and looking for an exit.

There is an option that will do that!

Code: Select all

- - - - - -
It's called "code".
- - - - - -
