Blackthorn continues his high stakes game of Simon and presses 5 on the death ray rune panel.

Duke is unsure what if these visions are real or an illusion. She fears attacking them or blind attacking her now invisible enemies could prove disastrous for her team so she attempts to cower out of harms way for the moment

Do kith have any chance to intuit the meaning of these runes? That is, when/if I have a kith at the ready to help read 'em!

Meanwhile...
Arvis rushes into the castle, aghast at the sight of his abominated cousins. With a mighty roar he lunges at the nearest threatening creature within reach, slashing savagely with his trusted flint dagger!
"Fleiri demons!? Feel reiði untainted Kith!" ...wait- some of that made sense (to those with Planetary Common Basic!)
Arvis: att 6+3+2(Force of Will)=11. If hit, dmg 4+2=6
Beega continues to "pull" the tiny ship to himself and the Purple Planet, using both hands as if hauling in a rope.

Modern-day Kith are illiterate; the best you can do is write and read basic pictographs. These sacred runes inspire you with a sense of wonder, but mean nothing to you.

Kelvin is unable to open the box, and definitely would be embarrassed were anyone around to witness.

I believe I'm waiting on an action from Gnomeboy to keep rolling. If I missed it please let me know.

Sorry, I got confused and thought that last spell still had to be resolved...

Toby, at giant size, swings again at the zombie in front of him.
Atk: 18!
Damage: 2 pts, plus whatever the new size might give him...

Havarth likewise, drives his glaive toward the other blinded zombie.
Atk: 3

Lucius steps forward to gut the un-blinded zombie. "You stand in Verlore's way ...no longer!"
Atk: 18!
Damage: 1!
(I rolled a d8, but this is a sword found on the Purple Planet, and I'm not exactly sure what damage it is supposed to do...)

Kelven looks for something to help him open the chest. "Where are my retainers when I need them!"

+4 to attack, damage, and AC. +10 HP (to save the Judge some time scrolling back :) )

Funny that, for the moment, my Zero has more hp than the leveled-up guys...

I'll update tomorrow, fellas. I'm going through some mental health issues and need some rest.

No worries about us, Terra. We're here when you're ready to play again.

Take care of yourself first, second, third, etc., and us about one zillionth. I know what it's like to feel a weight of responsibility for running a campaign when internal issues are sapping all my energy, and you should really put zero pressure on yourself regarding this game.

Be well! Nothing is more important than that.

Sorry team. I've been having mental health issues, and now I have to do the whole Thanksgiving holiday weekend thing.

I'll try to have updates going Saturday night. I"m sorry for making you all wait, and I hope you're having a good holiday season.

No need to be sorry.

Running a PbP can get to be a grind. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes you need a break.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Happy Thanksgiving (if applicable).

Today, I am definitely thankful to have met this cool group of players and terrific judge, and to have been able to play in a real hoot of a campaign! I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving, with hopes that everybody has plenty to be thankful for today!

Thanks, gang!

Thanks for the holiday wishes and the concern. I'm doing better now. Sorry about all of that. Let's continue.

Next Round
Blackthorn 20
Eye Beast 12
Arvis 12
Beega 12
Duke 12
Havarth 12
Lucius 12
Qort 11
Nurzual 6
Cyber Zombies 6
Toby 4
Kelven 4
Brandybland 2

When Blackthorn pushes button 5 on the pannel, the entire death ray shuts off! You note to yourself that must be the button that activates and deactivates this device.

The Eye Beast ship fires grappling hooks at yours, attempting to stop you from getting away:
(attack roll is 18). Hooks bury into your ship, and yours begins to slow down as they reel you in!

Arvis stabs the unblinded Cyber Zombie, cutting through some of the wires running along its body. Its left arm goes limp from the damage.

Beega finds resistance to pulling the ship--those blasted Eye Beasts are interfering with their hooks! You feel your vision flicker. There is not much power left to the platform. If you don't reconnect with your friends soon, you might lose them forever!

Duke's visions continue, as she sees the soldiers of House Memniscene marching to battle with another Kith house. Their technologically superior soldiers and their strange weapons cut through the common folk with a savagery you've never seen before.

Havarth misses his attack.

Lucius smites the Cyber Zombie with the power of conviction, and does 1 damage.

Qort fails to Detect Magic at this time (but this was a good idea).

Nurzual manages to blind the only unblinded Cyber Zombie. You note that it failed both saves, but seems immune to being unconscious.

All three Cyber Zombies being blind, they attempt to attack at random spaces where they think the party may be. One misses entirely due to attacking thin air. Two have a chance to hit:
(Rolls are 7 and 14). One hit is on Havarth for 2 damage.

Gigantic Toby swats the wounded Cyber Zombie back. As it hits the ground, it discharges its remaining electricity in a small burst! Luckily no one is near enough to take damage, but you make a mental note that these things are... volatile.

Kelven calls out for assistance!

Brandybland remains hidden.

What Will You Do?

Are the hooks from the eye beasts' ship anywhere that they can be reached?

Giant-Size Toby will run to one of the hooks and try to pry it loose. (Strength check, using giant sword perhaps [if possible] as a lever: 13)
But if none are accessible (he's willing to climb!) he will attempt to dispatch a Zombie thing and hope his size will protect him from the worst of the lightning!
Atk: 18
Dam: 11!

Kelven, looking out the gaping hole in the ship, tries to see where the hooks have landed... Can he reach one?
If he can, he'll try to untie the line from it or cut through it (depends on what it's made of, scale, etc.)

Havarth, hoping his glaive's length will protect him from the lightning, will stab at a zombie thing.
Atk: 9

Lucius will stab another zombie thing.
Atk: NATURAL 1!
d12 result: 11!
He swings wildly and gets disoriented (-4 to next attack).

Having more than a little experience at getting something not-quite-right on his first try, Qort will again attempt to Detect Magic.

He rolls a modified 6, gaining still more experience in failure.

Nurzual attempts to use Force Manipulation to further impede the zombies’ attacks. A roll of 12 brings his modified total to 14, creating a disk of force that can be used to haul loot (Mercurial Magic permitting). Since he can cause it to move up to 25’ away, he gets out his length of chain. That’s likely as much as he can do this round, but next round he intends to put the chain mostly on the disk with a bit dragging to make noise, in hopes of moving it past the zombies and luring them in pursuit.

If Brandybland is able to hear Kelven’s calls, she takes note of the lack of mortal terror in his voice and decides that whatever he needs help with sounds better than fighting zombies. She attempts to track him down by his calls.

Arvis presses the attack on the accursed deadbots! (I played Mutants: Genetic Gladiators too!)
...and rolls a nat 1. Fumble:3-2=1. He looks ridiculous with his awkward knifework.
Beega panics, tugging desperately at the ship with one hand and swatting at the eyebeast craft with the other!

Blackthorn will hit rune 5 again hopping to bring the weapon back online and then hit 2 as well if he has time. If anything fires from the weapon he will be aiming at the chain attached to the grappling hook. He rolls a 5+1=6.

Duke, awakened from her dream state will give sleep a shot rolling 6+3=9 losing the spell.

(Well that was fun)
