In the DCC rulebook, it says that fluctuations in a character's Luck score will not affect their Luck Modifier. Since the (optional) purchasing of an extra Benison is done during chargen, does it follow this same rule? That is to say, does the loss of Luck due to the purchase of an extra Benison affect the character's Luck Modifier? Or not?

The "unchanging modifier" you're referring to (pg 19) is the Birth Augur effect, not the general Attribute modifier of -3 to +3, which fluctuates with the changing score for any Attribute (including Luck).
