I have an adventure

Post by VengerSatanis »

Hello,

Got back into gaming very recently thanks to Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG and various OSR D&D bloggers out there in cyberland. Years ago, a certain iteration of a popular fantasy RPG nearly killed off any interest I might have of continuing to pursue this hobby. Basically, I had to give it all one last shot... just to prove if gaming was still for me.

The first few sessions would have to be memorable and, hopefully, a reaffirmation of my passion for fantasy roleplaying - that it was not dead, only dreaming. So, I decided to create my own introductory adventure. I wanted to give the players I eventually found something cool, nostalgic, weird, dark, and whatever else I could sling together. So, I wrote and wrote and wrote until I had a full-fledged module along with some optional rule preferences and roleplaying suggestions. Fourth session is tonight, concluding the adventure, and I think we're all pretty excited about how the campaign is turning out.

Long story short, I'm interested in having this adventure see the light of day. It's in good shape right now, but the thing could probably use some improvements, fleshing out, creative zeal, etc.

Not sure where this post will lead, but I'd be happy to hear from Mr. Goodman, Harley Stroh, a 3rd party publisher, or just someone who's able to assist with placing this adventure into Dungeon Master / Judge hands like some kind of beautiful but terrifying eldritch blade!

Well, I was going to wish you the best of luck and hope you make it as a publisher. Than I saw your link... http://www.CultofCthulhu.net I am not saying you belong to them or even truely support them.

Why would anyone want to be a REAL life Call of Cthulhu cultist or support them? Do we not already have enough evil and pain in the world? I glanced over your link/website and was appalled. Their bible/dogma is composed of everythiung that makes this world a screwed up place. Here is a qoute from the site... We are not part of the right hand path, the white lighters. Our spiritual movement is directly in line with the Left Hand Path. And what are the chief tenets of the LHP? Antinomianism and Self-deification. We serve no dogma, no law, no external force.

I am not a Christian or hold anyone faith above the other but to support this group is the same as supporting a serial killers hotline, child-porn ring or any other perversion that needs to come together for strength of numbers. Sick! They have a child on the front page holding a doll and on the same site they have porn??? Yep...under green slim girls pics...sad( I hope they know the combination of the both are illegal!

And if I get banned from the forums for standing up for the weak and those against injustice/pain/suffering/greed/hate...than so be it. More people need to stand up before all is lost to groups like these.

Hey, sniderman just took a quick look at your link. Could I put in a request for proofreading on my Redwald rpg when the first draft is done?

It must be trolling. I don't think enough folks are dumb enough to believe Cthulhu is real.

I obviously can't speak for Venger, but I'm pretty sure he's the modern day founder of Cult of Cthulhu. I found this to be a pretty good interview:

I've seen some of Venger Satanis' YouTube reviews of RPGs and they are well thought out, clear, and good.

Sniderman, you are a gentleman and a scholar! I'm sure it's been said, but thanks for your service to the community!

VS, can you give us a synopsis of the adventure?

I don't know Venger but I've watched his YouTube videos on DCC RPG and the OSR and getting back into RPGs
in general and he's always thoughtful and presents his discussions in an intelligent and engaging way. I would
love to see the adventure he is working on.

I hope these forums will always be about our shared love of this game. We all have that in common.

I spent the time to fully explore the website linked in Venger's original post. I saw the philosophical and esoteric
interests of someone who is also clearly a positive and proactive guy and a loving father.

I'd like to not see the kind of wildly reactionary and ugly sentiments that we saw from an earlier poster in this thread
in this kind of friendly forum.

Different people have differing ways of looking at the world. There are people out there who took a quick glance at the
1st edition DMG and wanted to burn every copy to protect the children from Evil. So. Whose ideology is wrong and scary?

Protecting children from evil...why would any parent want to risk harm, spiritual or likewise to their children??? http://www.cultofcthulhu.net/2011/02/anointing/

Sorry but I do not agree with the idea that whatever rocks your boat is fine. Anytime someone post a link as Mr Satan did he better be ready for a backlash. I also note that he did take the porn off his site after I mentioed that mixing pics of children and naked women on the same site is illlegal. So, least my rant did some good? Better than just ignoring it?

I am done posting replies to his link. I said my piece and hold to it for I am not a pacifist. I fight evil every day and know when I see it.

Moderator...can you please lock this thread? It needs to go no further...
thx!

*sigh* I knew this would happen. I'm locking the thread and recommending the removal of VS' sig link. If anyone disagrees with my locking the thread or the potential pulling of VS' sig, they can PM me for details.
